BLYTHE, Calif – After being nominated by two co-workers, Ramiro Madrigal was named as Classified Employee of the Month of April. Mr. Madrigal has been with the School District* since 1977 where he started as a Mechanics Helper in the Transportation Department. He is now a Senior Mechanic.
At the School District Board Meeting (May 3) Acting Superintendent, Bob Bilek spoke of Mr. Madrigal’s contribution to the district:
“While reviewing his file, I did discover a unique fact to bring to your attention. Ramiro has worked in our district serving faithfully and well for 34 years, longer than some people work in their entire career. Ramiro continues to work every day, getting the job done so the students are transported safely.
I can always find applicants for teaching positions and I’m certain I could find applicants for my job, but it is rare to find qualified bus mechanics. We are fortunate to have a Senior Mechanic who chose to spend his career with this district. I want to thank him for his service and congratulate him for being Employee of the Month.”
Laurie Ray stated:
“Ray is always at work. He never misses a day, even when he is not feeling 100%. He always takes the time to explain what is wrong with your bus. He is never too busy to answer questions. He goes out of his way to help others. He takes pride in his work and always accepts full responsibility for his job.”
Diana Vibanco stated:
“Ramiro is a hard worker. He puts the needs of the students first by making sure the buses are running. He works alongside the bus drivers to make sure all issues with the buses are taken care of. If he knows that no one will be at the bus barn for an emergency, he will not take any days off. He is a great asset to this district and should be recognized as such.”
The staff of The Desert Independent would also like to congratulate Ramiro Madrigal for a job well done and for being honored as Employee of the Month.
