KUDOS to Palo Verde Hospital

To the Editor,

We were travelling from Tucson to Seattle late on the afternoon of June 2; when I experienced a medical emergency at a rest stop about fifty miles east of Blythe.

We raced to Blythe and to the Emergency Room at Palo Verde Hospital where the attending doctor, Dr. Arko and the rest of the staff worked to determine the cause of my pain. When they were certain of the diagnosis they called in the surgical team to make a life-saving repair at 2:00 AM Friday morning.

We have had nothing but the best of care from the nursing staff, the CNA’s, the surgical staff and those who are responsible for keeping the hospital clean and running smoothly. In particular we are grateful to Dr. Sahlolbei and Dr. Lucero for their expertise.

I am from Sacramento and belong to a HMO in that large metropolitan city and the care that I received at Palo Verde Hospital is, in my opinion, far superior to any care that I have ever had elsewhere.

We think your small community is fortunate to have such fine health care service at Palo Verde Hospital both for the residents and those of us who are just passing through. Had it not been for the quick response of the whole team and their follow-up care, I would not be here to write this letter.
