BLYTHE, Calif – The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was again held at the Palo Verde Valley Hospital. The lighting was accompanied by a trio of singers from the Palo Verde Valley High School who entertained the audience with a medley of Christmas songs.

At the count of “three” from the crowd, who awaited the moment of electrification, the elves on the roof turned the switch that allowed a large quantity of bulbs to glow. The lighting elicited “oohs” and “aahs” from the parents and kids who had waited.

Tickets were sold for a 50/50 raffle. The “Pink Ladies” served coffee, cocoa and cookies to the crowd braving the evening chill.

The lighting was organized by the volunteer Hospital Auxiliary and led by its President Virginia Webber.
