BLYTHE, Calif – Blythe’s annual Cinco de Mayo festival was again held on Spring Street adjacent to the Joe Wine Recreational Center this past Saturday.

Celebrating the Battle of Puebla, in which a Mexican militia defeated the a better-trained French army and carved the way to independence, the Cinco de Mayo holiday is cause for celebration on both Mexico and the border states. Mariachi bands played, the cerveza flowed like agua, the comida was muy bueno and a good time was held by all.
