Colorado River Fair Opens

4-H and FFA Animals Judged for Market Condition

BLYTHE, Calif – On Thursday, for the price of one can of food or the nominal sum of $1.00, the public was allowed entry into the Fairgrounds to view the market showings of the various goats, sheep, swine and steers fattened up and curried into condition for this event.

Showmanship will be held on Friday and the Grand Auction will be held on Saturday. The Round Robin will be held on Friday evening in which the first place winners of each Showmanship class are invited to try their hands at all four types of animals. The small animals, such as rabbits, poultry and turkeys had already been held.

Balmy weather and clear skies allowed for a good crowd to view the proceedings on Thursday with predictions of even better attendance over the weekend. The theme of this year’s fair is “It’s a Country Affair.” The usual attractions and vendors are in place and entry fees will be set at $8.00 with ride bracelets running at $27.00 for the entire weekend.

The fair will close its gates for this year at 11:00 on Sunday.
