Another Death at Imperial County Jail

EL CENTRO, Calif – On Wednesday, March 23 at about 1:00 p.m., Imperial County Jail inmate Aaron Clyde Livas (age 53) was found unresponsive by a fellow inmate in a common area within the module where he was housed. The inmate alerted Sheriff’s Office Corrections staff who provided immediate medical attention to Livas who was then transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center via ambulance.

At about 3:24 p.m. Aaron Clyde Livas was pronounced deceased by El Centro Regional Medical Center emergency room personnel. Sheriff’s Office Investigators responded to the scene and an investigation was initiated.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Aaron Clyde Livas died of natural causes. The cause and manner of death is pending an investigation by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office. The next of kin has been notified by the Coroner’s Office. An autopsy has been scheduled for March 24, 2016 in the afternoon hours.
