Arrest Made & Large Amount of Stolen Property Recovered Connected to Various Burglaries

JOSHUA TREE, Calif – On Wednesday, November 2 at 8:41 in the morning, San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 5000 block of Center Ave after getting a report of an audible burglar alarm. As deputies arrived, a door at the residence was found forced open and a vehicle was seen fleeing the location.

  

The same vehicle was located a short time later on Tileford Way.

A search warrant was obtained for the Tileford address and a large amount of stolen property was recovered. The stolen property is related to several reported burglaries. Evidence was located at the Tileford address that led to the arrest of Anthony Smith, age 50 of Joshua Tree.

Smith was transported and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for Burglary, Accessory, Grand Theft and Receiving Stolen Property with bail set at $75,000.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
