Arrest for Burglary & Possession of Stolen Property

NEEDLES, Calif – On Sunday, May 22, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s – Colorado River Station responded to the 1400 block of Highland Avenue in the City of Needles following the report of a residential burglary. The victim reported over $1,050 worth of items stolen.

On Tuesday, May 24 at about 8:15 a.m., deputies had contact with the suspect, Nicholas Crawford (age 21 of Needles), who was found in possession of some of the victim's property.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station assisted Probation with a probation check in the 2000 block of Rio Vista in the City of Needles. During the search of the property, deputies located the rest of the stolen property from the Highland Ave residence. Deputies also located several firearms in suspect Antonie Johnson's (age 45 of Needles) possession. Johnson is a convicted felon and should not be in possession of any firearms.

Both men were transported to the Colorado River Station jail, where they were booked for Residential Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. Johnson was also booked for a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Both men are being held without bail pending a court hearing.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
