Arrest for Felon in Possession of Firearms

NEEDLES, Calif – On Saturday, May 7, at about 4:30 p.m., Deputies from Colorado River Sheriff's Station received information from a Detective with the Bullhead City Police Department in Arizona that Albert Aleman (a resident of Needles) was in possession of more than one firearm. Aleman is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Deputies conducted an investigation and found Aleman was currently at a residence on Coronado Street in the city of Needles. A deputy obtained a search warrant for the residence and Aleman’s pickup truck.

Deputies conducted surveillance of Aleman’s residence that evening. Aleman was stopped while driving his white Dodge Ram pickup truck on J Street and Bailey Ave in Needles. The vehicle was searched pursuant to the search warrant and two loaded pistols and extra ammunition were located. Aleman was arrested and booked for felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
