Assault with a Firearm Call Results in 4 Arrests

JOSHUA TREE, Calif – On Wednesday, June 8, at 9:37 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station Sheriff's dispatch received a 911 call of shots heard and people overheard yelling at the victim’s residence.

Through investigation deputies and detectives discovered that Nichole Pederson (age 31 of Joshua Tree) had assaulted two victims with a firearm. Additional information was developed which resulted in the following arrests:

  • Christopher Zimmerer (age 33 of Joshua Tree) was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and an outstanding warrant for Probation Violation;

  • Anthony Smith (age 50 of Joshua Tree) was arrested for an outstanding warrant for drugs; and,

  • Brandon Kent (age 30 of Joshua Tree) was found to be a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

All four were booked into Morongo Basin Jail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
