Backup Well Startup May Result in Water Discoloration

June 10, 2016

BLYTHE, Calif – The City of Blythe Public Works Department noticed an increase in water demand due to the high temperatures experienced last week. In order to keep up with demand a backup well will be put into service on Monday, June 13. Activating this well may disturbed the lines and residents in certain areas of the City may experience colored water for a period of time.

If you experience colored water for more than 24 hours, please contact the Public Works Department at (760) 922-6611. Once a complaint is received a work order will be issued to flush the lines in that area.

California is still in a drought and the City’s water restrictions are still in place. We ask residents to conserve water as prescribed in Ordinance No 871-15 of the Municipal Code and as ordered by the State of California.
