Border Patrol Arrests 2 US Citizens

YUMA, Arizona –Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two U.S. citizens with active warrants as they attempted to travel through immigration checkpoints this week on Highways 95 and 78. Agents arrested Juan Carlos Maldonado on February 3 after learning he has an active warrant out of Columbus, Ohio, for a probation violation and dangerous drugs.

On February 4, a canine team arrested Alberto Ledezma on an active warrant out of Mount Vernon, Washington, for escaping community custody. Ledezma has felony convictions for assault and burglary. Drug paraphernalia was also found in his vehicle.

Both men were turned over to appropriate authorities.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
