February 18, 2016

Bruce HedrickBLYTHE, Calif – On February 3, 2016 the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado River Station, received a report of a deceased person in a drainage ditch on the west end of Riverside Drive. On February 16, the Blythe Police Department was notified by the Riverside County Coroner’s office that the body had been positively identified as Bruce Robert Hedrick of Blythe. Hedrick’s family was notified by the Coroner’s office the same day.

On Tuesday, December 15, the Blythe Police Department was contacted by a female wishing to report her fiancé missing (see article in The Desert Independent). The female told Police she had not seen her fiancé, Bruce Robert Hedrick, since the early evening hours on Friday, December 11, 2015.

Hedrick’s last confirmed sighting was on December 11, 2015 when he was contacted by Blythe Police and arrested for a misdemeanor warrant. Hedrick was cited and released from the police department. Hedrick was reported missing to the Blythe Police Department four days later by his fiancé.

“This is obviously not the outcome we had hoped for and our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Hedrick’s family and friends.” stated Blythe Police Lt. Jeff Wade. Wade added that the cause of death for Hedrick is pending, but foul play was not suspected by the Coroner’s office or Sheriff’s Investigators.
