Certain Areas of City May Experience Colored Water

January 9, 2016

BLYTHE, Calif The City of Blythe hired Granite Construction Company to Grind, Overlay and Pave E. Barnard Street from 2nd Street to Birch Street. The construction of this project required several fire hydrant valves to be exercised to allow for relocation of the hydrants.

By exercising these valves, certain areas of the City may experience colored water during construction due to the disturbance of sediments in the water lines.

The City will continue weekly testing of the water as required by the State Water Resources Control Board to ensure that although the water maybe be discolored, it is safe for the public. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause our residents and thank you for your patience during construction.
