“Coffee with a Cop”

February 3 at 9:00 a.m.

BLYTHE, Calif – The Blythe Police Department along with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol and United States Border Patrol want to invite members of the community to have “Coffee with a Cop.” Coffee with a Cop is a nationwide program which provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn about each agencies work within their neighborhoods.

“Participating in this program has become a semi-annual event for us. It’s a good opportunity for citizens to talk to Officers in a casual, relaxed atmosphere about things that concern them,” said Blythe Police Lt. Jeff Wade. “We want people to know we are approachable and accessible. This time around we have asked local Agents from the Border Patrol to join us for the folks that might have questions regarding immigration laws and procedures,” added Wade.

Coffee with a Cop is being hosted by Albertson’s at 840 E. Hobsonway on February 3 at 9:00 a.m.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice and the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the country, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
