Colorado River Boating Collision


March 13, 2016

BLYTHE, Calif – On Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 5:29 p.m., sheriff’s deputies from the Colorado River Station responded to an area of the Colorado River approximately 30 miles north of the City of Blythe, regarding a single vessel boating collision. A witness said the boat was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a turn causing it to collide with the shoreline.

Multiple people were transported to several hospitals with varying degrees of injuries. It is believed that alcohol may be a factor in the collision.
