Fight at Big Bend Resort Results in Arrest

PARKER DAM, Calif – On Saturday, September 4, at about 11:50 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station were dispatched to the Big Bend Resort in Parker Dam to investigate a fight. During the investigation, deputies learned that Daniel Mendez had assaulted a 49 year old male while he was intoxicated.

During the fight, the male victim had fallen or was pushed to the ground and was unable to move his neck or lower body. Medical personnel responded and the victim was air lifted to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Daniel Mendez (age 24 of Riverside) was arrested for battery with serious injuries and booked into the Colorado River Jail in Needles. His bail was set at $100,000.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
