Man Tased and Jailed after He Fights with Deputies

September 4, 2016

NEEDLES, Calif – On September 1, Sheriff's Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station went to the Mobil Gas Station in the 2500 block of Needles Highway. There they attempted to arrest Johnny Harrell (age 27 of Arizona) for an outstanding warrant. As they approached him, he ran and led deputies on a foot chase.

After a short distance, deputies caught up to him. However, as the deputies attempted to arrest him, Harrell fought with them and refused to listen or obey their commands to stop fighting. Deputies deployed their Taser, and Harrell immediately stopped fighting and was taken into custody.

Harrell was booked into the Needles jail with his bail set at $50,000.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
