Marine Assists Catching Burglar

29 PALMS, Calif – On Tuesday, June 28 at 6:12 AM, deputies from San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station, received a call from a home in the 74000 Block of Old Dale Road. The reporting party, a Marine assigned to 29 Palms Marine Base, reported that a man had entered their home in an attempt to burglarize it. Additionally, he was currently following the suspect who had fled the location.

With directions from the reporting party, deputies were led to the area that the suspect was last seen. During a search of the area, the suspect, who was positively identified by the victim, was located hiding in a shed of nearby house.

The suspect, Daniel Weber (age 35 a transient) was taken in to custody without incident. During an evidence search of the shed, stolen property which was hidden away by Weber was located. Weber was booked for Burglary and a Parole violation and is being held without bail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
