Mobil Home Explosion

January 23, 2016

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Thursday, January 21, at 8:22 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to an explosion at the Desert Oasis Mobile Home Park on Joshua Drive. Upon arrival deputies discovered that an older, single wide mobile home had exploded inside Space #7.

The 29 Palms Fire Department responded, but no fire occurred as a result of the explosion and no one was determined to be inside the mobile home. The mobile home sustained total damage with all the walls bulging outward rendering it unlivable. The tenant, Lavonya Hill (age 32 of 29 Palms) was contacted at the scene and had no injuries.

A sheriff’s department Arson/Bomb detective was called out to investigate the incident. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
