Stolen LoJack Vehicle Results in Fugitive Arrest

NEEDLES, Calif – On Saturday, December 17, at 5:00 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station and the Needles Police Department, received a LoJack notification of a stolen vehicle in the area of Bailey Avenue and J Street. The vehicle in question was located and the license plate was confirmed stolen by dispatch.

Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop on the 1900 block of Clary Drive. All occupants of the vehicle were taken in to custody without incident. The driver, Alfred James Hicks (age 38 of Kingman, Arizona) was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. A records check of Hicks, also showed he was a fugitive from Nevada and wanted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for attempted murder.

A passenger, Clifford Lee Abrams (age 49 of Mohave Valley, Arizona) was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and syringes. Abrams also had multiple warrants for his arrest.

Another passenger, Destiny Brown (age 21 of Needles) exhibited signs and symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

All three were transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Hicks and Abrams were held without bail. Brown was later cite released.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Needles Sheriff’s Station at (760) 326-9200.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
