Traffic Stop Results in Arrest for Transportation of a Controlled Substance

NEEDLES, Calif – On Thursday, April 28, at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies from the Needles Police and Riverside Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop near Front Street and West Broadway. During the traffic stop, deputies had contact with Jerrod Blay and he was found in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, scales and other narcotic paraphernalia.

Blay (age 35 of Needles) was booked at the Colorado River Station Jail for transportation of a controlled substance and is being held on $50,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Needles Sheriff’s Station at (760) 326-9200.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
