Two Las Vegas Residents Arrested for Robbing Gas Station

January 7, 2016

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Wednesday, January 6, at 2:44 a.m. two suspects, later identified as Milton Fletcher (age 24) and Cedric Russum (age 28) both of Las Vegas, walked into the Circle K, located at Adobe Road and Two Mile Road. The suspects approached the cash register and Fletcher instructed the clerk to give them the money out of the register.

The suspects kept their hands in the pockets of their black hooded sweatshirts. The clerk believed the suspects had weapons concealed under their clothing and feared for her safety. The clerk removed an undisclosed amount of cash and coins from the register and placed it on the counter. A delivery driver observed the suspects as they collected the money from the counter. The suspects exited the store, entered a white compact vehicle and fled northbound on Adobe Road.

A deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of the crime and searched the area for the vehicle. The vehicle was observed traveling east on Amboy Road and assistance called for. The vehicle was followed east on Amboy Road until more deputies arrived at which time a felony car-stop was completed and the occupants were detained.

The victim and witness positively identified Russum and Fletcher as the suspects of the robbery. Evidence of the robbery was located at the scene of the crime and stolen money was recovered inside the vehicle.

Russum and Fletcher were arrested for robbery and booked at the Morongo Jail. Both suspects were held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Department.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
