12th Annual Senior Appreciation Day

Wed, January 25 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

IMPERIAL, Calif – On Wednesday, January 25, the County of Imperial Area Agency on Aging will host their Annual Senior Appreciation Day in Imperial. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Casa de Mañana Building in the IV Expo (fairgrounds).

The annual event is an opportunity to display our appreciation for the role that seniors play in our community and to provide seniors with a day of wholesome fun that includes food, entertainment, raffles, live music, and other activities for the seniors. Chairman Michael Kelley will provide welcoming remarks and the Area Agency on Aging will recognize its “Senior Volunteer of the Year.” Blood pressure checks will be available, along with information and resources from local service agencies. This event is free to seniors. This year’s theme is “Motorcycles” and door prizes will be distributed, including a grand prize for “best dressed.” Transportation will be available through IVT Ride from select locations.

The Area Agency on Aging provides the following services to seniors: congregate meals, home-delivered meals, in-home respite care, information and assistance, ombudsman program, senior health clinics, and legal assistance.

Seniors (aged 60+ and their caregivers) interested in participating and enjoying a fun-filled day are encouraged to attend.
