16 year old arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle

August 1, 2017

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Sunday, July 30 at about 6:30 in the morning, a deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff department conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy Silverado, in the area of Aztec Avenue and Crestview Drive in Twentynine Palms.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as a 16-year-old juvenile male (of Twentynine Palms), fled from the vehicle on foot. He ran westbound into a dirt lot and was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

After further investigation, the black Silverado was found to be a stolen vehicle, which had not been reported yet. The deputy was able to return it to the registered owner.

The juvenile also had No-Bail Warrant, for an unspecified offense, out of San Bernardino County and was subsequently booked into San Bernardino Central Juvenile Hall for the warrant and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
