4 in SUV Commit Assault & Robbery – Arrests Made

NEEDLES, Calif – On Friday, March 10 at 8:28 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Sheriff /Needles Police responded to Coronado Street and J Street in Needles after receiving a report that a victim had been assaulted.

When deputies arrived, they found that 4 suspects had pulled up to the victim in an SUV driven by Gabriel Russell (age 27). Two other occupants of the SUV confronted the victim after making racial slurs. The suspects drove away in an SUV after the juvenile suspect assaulted the victim. As they left, one of the suspects grabbed a bag belonging to the victim. The bag was recovered by deputies and returned to the victim.

The juvenile was arrested and booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center without bail.

Russell was arrested for robbery, his bail set at $100,000. He was also arrested for a $25,000 warrant for theft and booked into the Colorado River Station Jail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
