Arizona Man Arrested for Arson, Criminal Threats, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon

NEEDLES, Calif – On Monday, January 30, at about 5:30 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Sheriff’s Station Deputies and the Needles Police Department and the responded to an apartment complex in the 1900 block of Erin Drive after a report of a residential structure fire.

On arrival, a building containing four apartments owned by AWI Management Corporation was found to be on fire. All occupants were safely evacuated and there were no injuries. The fire damaged all four apartments.

An investigation was conducted and Russell Gendre (age 62 of Mohave Valley, Arizona) was arrested and booked into the Needles Jail for Arson, Criminal Threats and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
