Arrest for theft and commercial burglary

NEEDLES, Calif – On Sunday, November 12, at about 6:00 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train depot in Needles at 900 Front Street for a theft report.

A rail yard employee reported his duffle bag containing personal items and wallet where stolen. Later that evening and into the next day, there were 11 charges made at multiple businesses in Needles using the victim's stolen credit cards.

Through investigation, the suspect was initially identified as Anthony Ross. The suspect was contacted in an area park and taken to the Needles Station for questioning. Ross was interviewed and deputies determined his real identity was Jaytwon Dupre Ross (age 22 of Needles). Ross was a fugitive from Arizona and had felony warrants from Sacramento and Solano Counties.

Ross was booked at the Needles jail on charges of commercial burglary and concealing his identity to avoid prosecution with a bail of $25,000.
