Call of weapons being fired results in 2 felons arrested for possession of firearms

WONDER VALLEY, Calif – On Sunday, June 11, at about 1:09 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station were notified of semi-automatic weapons being fired in the area of Pinto Mountain Road near Valley Mountain Road in Wonder Valley. Deputies arrived and observed a white vehicle leaving the area through the desert.
The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee from the deputies, but got stuck in the sand. Two men, Robert Prudholme (age 28) and Victor Guerra (age 33) both of Twentynine Palms, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, both were apprehended and taken into custody.
A records check revealed Guerra was a convicted felon on parole and Prudholme was also a convicted felon on probation. Deputies searched the vehicle and located a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, a .38 caliber revolver and 400 rounds of ammunition.
Deputies arrested Guerra and Prudholme for being convicted felons in possession of firearms and booked them into the Morongo Basin Jail.
