DUI driver hit utility pole is injured & arrested

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Tuesday, April 11 at about 1:37 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station responded to a report of a reckless driver in the area of Twentynine Palms Highway and Mantoya Road in the city of Twentynine Palms.

Deputies located David Huff (age 50 of Joshua Tree) who appeared to be intoxicated and crashed his vehicle into a Frontier Communications telephone pole. Huff suffered a broken wrist during the collision and was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment.

After Huff was treated by medical staff, he was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for felony driving under the influence. He is currently being held on a $100,000 bail.
