Male juvenile struck by driver

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Saturday, July 22, at about 9:20 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department - Morongo Basin Station responded to Twentynine Palms Highway west of Utah Trail to investigate the report of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian.

When deputies arrived, two good Samaritans were assisting a male juvenile approximately 15 years old who was lying on the side of the road. Paramedics transported the juvenile to High Desert Medical Center where he was airlifted to Desert Regional Hospital in Palms Springs for treatment. The juvenile’s injuries are unknown at this time.

The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian said she was traveling east on Twentynine Palms Highway when for unknown reasons, the pedestrian walked into the roadway. Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department - Morongo Basin Station at (760) 366-4175.
