Motel 6 employee arrested for burglary of a motel room

NEEDLES, Calif – On Monday, September 4 at 2:34 p.m. deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department investigated a burglary of a motel room at Motel 6 located at 1420 J Street in Needles. Sometime between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3 and 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 4 a suspect entered the victim's motel room stealing his iPad and Citizen watch.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Maria D. Sanchez (age 28 of Mohave Valley, Arizona). Sanchez was an employee at Motel 6 and was working at the time she committed the burglary. On September 5 at 10:52 a.m., Sanchez was contacted at her place of employment, interviewed and arrested. Sanchez was booked at the Needles jail for Residential Burglary with bail set at $75,000.
