April 27, 2017

JOSHUA TREE, Calif – On Tuesday, April 25, at approximately 3:28 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at 63000 block of Walpi Dr. in Joshua Tree. The caller stated a male and female, later identified as Christopher Zimmerer (age 33) and Kathryn Buck (age 59) both of Joshua Tree, were loading property into a van and they believed the homeowners were out of town.

Upon arrival deputies conducted a traffic stop on a van matching the description given by the caller. The van was driven by Kathryn Buck and contained property from the residence. An area check was conducted and Zimmerer was found in a near-by residence with a stolen bicycle from the incident location.

Buck and Zimmerer were arrested for residential burglary and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail. The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Morongo Basin Station at (760)366-4175.
