Telephone Scam in Needles

NEEDLES, Calif – The San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station / Needles Police would like to make the public aware of a telephone scam being perpetrated in the City of Needles.

Unknown persons have been calling Needles businesses claiming to be representatives of the Needles City utility and threatening to shut off utilities if an outstanding bill is not paid with a credit card over the telephone.

The City of Needles does not call and demand payment over the telephone and anyone doing so is attempting to commit fraud. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately and call the City of Needles at 760-326-5700 Ext. 0.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
