BLYTHE, Calif The following is the response to a request from The Desert Independent to the Riverside County Office of Education for the resume of Charles Bush, Superintendent of Schools Palo Verde USD Office of Education.

Good Morning Bob,

This email is in response to your request for a copy of the resume the Superintendent used in applying for his position with PVUSD. Riverside County Office of Education conducted our search for Superintendent. As a result, Palo Verde does not have a copy of the documents used for application (i.e. resume); they are with the Human Resources Department of the Riverside County Office of Education.

Thank you for your interest in the Palo Verde Unified School District,

Janenne McBride
Executive Assistant
Palo Verde Unified School District

At first glance, this e-mail sounds puerile, boring even. Then, on second glance it confirms a horrifying fact. The school board, in its entirety, abdicated its due diligence in properly selecting a Superintendent. As the Superintendent is the only employee of the Board, this is a vital concern. Would anyone enter into an arranged marriage without knowing something about the other half of the equation? Would anyone sell a car or rent an apartment without knowing something about the buyer's credit history?

In a vain search for Superintendent and alleged human being Charles Bush's resume, we received this as a response. Why did we want a peek at his resume? Mr. Bush failed to mention Fort Bragg USD as his most recent disaster in his infamous and probably self-composed "interview" in the Palo Verde Valley Times.

Did he do the same with his resume? If he also failed to mention or altered his work history, it is usually grounds for immediate termination. Something that is sorely needed and soon.

Now, the folks on the board as we have mentioned before are good, moral and well-meaning people. Just more than a bit politically naive that are being taken advantage of by a megalomaniac and pathological liar.

Would only if one of them had Googled his name, they would have heard the cries of "racist" at the meeting of ELD parents. They would have seen the abrogation of student's civil rights at the 2014 basketball tournament. They could have read about the petition of no confidence presented to the board last May. Or, they could have read letters to the editor complaining about his termination of the middle school principal and vice-principal at mid-year. This has echoes with the "resignation" of Brandy Cox at the High School and movement of Del Drummond to the District Office. At any rate, any reasonable person would have perceived that this guy was trouble with a capital "T.

Please remember that the past predicts the future. A leopard does not change its spots. We are in for a very rough ride in the school year to come.

The next Board of Trustees meeting will be at the District Office on January 17 at 6:00. It would behoove the voting public to attend and ask their favorite board member why they choked on their most important responsibility.
