May 5, 2017

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Thursday, May 4, about 12:22 a.m., deputy from San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station observed a white BMW with no license plates at the intersection of Adobe Road and Twentynine Palms Highway. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.

The driver lost control near the 73600 block of Sunnyvale Drive where the vehicle spun out and became disabled. The driver, and only occupant, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The deputy caught the suspect at a house on Sunnyslope Drive and took the suspect into custody without further incident.

The driver was later identified as Jerome Eads (age 23 of Twentynine Palms). Eads was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for Felony Evading and is being held without bail for violation of Post-Release Community Supervision.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department - Morongo Basin Station at (760)366-4175.
