Washington woman arrested for stolen car
July 6, 2017
TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Monday, July 3, at about 8:43 in the evening, a San Bernardino County Sheriff deputy observed a 2005 Saturn Ion driving slow along the shoulder west bound on Twentynine Palms Highway. As the vehicle was continuing along the shoulder, the deputy could hear a verbal argument between the driver, later identified as Amy (Hudson) Hillman (age 41 a transient from Marysville, WA) and a pedestrian walking alongside the vehicle.
The deputy stopped both the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian to further investigate. A records check of the vehicle's license plate revealed the vehicle was reported stolen on June 21, 2017 to the Tulalip Tribal Police in Washington State.
Upon further investigation, the deputy was able to contact the registered owner of the vehicle in Washington by telephone. The victim stated the driver, Amy Hillman, did not have permission to drive the vehicle. Hillman was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station at (760) 366-4175.
Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
