Arrest of a felon in possession of a firearm and stolen property

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Monday, March 12 about 2:09 in the afternoon, a deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station responded to the 69000 block of Mesa Verde Road in Twentynine Palms after a report of a stolen vehicle. Following a thorough investigation, deputies identified Jeremy Shannon (age 25 of Twentynine Palms) as a possible suspect of the vehicle theft and located Shannon in the 71000 Block of Indian Trail. Shannon was wearing a bullet proof vest and was in possession of a stolen firearm.

Deputies also located multiple rounds of ammunition on Shannon's person, as well as property belonging to the victim of the stolen vehicle. He was also in possession of multiple stolen credit cards and driver's licenses. Shannon is a previously convicted felon.

Shannon was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for being a felon in possession of firearm, ammunition and for possession of stolen property and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
