Deceased adult male found in desert

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Wednesday, June 13 at about 6:40 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 71600 block of Indian Trail, Twentynine Palms following the report of a deceased adult male located in the desert.

Upon arrival, the reporting party took deputies to the location in the desert where she located the deceased victim while looking for her cat.

Investigators from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to the location and are currently conducting a death investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.

Identification of the deceased and next of kin notification is pending. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Julius McChristian at (909)387-3589.

UPDATE: Thursday, June 21, 2018 – The deceased has been identified as Ronald Scott, age 37, of Twentynine Palms.
