Deputies assist Mohave County Sheriff in recovering a stolen vehicle

NEEDLES, Calif – On Saturday, January 20 at 1:02 in the afternoon, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station/Needles Police assisted the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department with the recovery of a stolen vehicle on the 1000 block of East Broadway. During the subsequent investigation, suspects were identified as Melissa Crepeau (age 60) and Karl Vongettrost (age 52) both of Needles.

Deputies attempted contact at Crepeau’s last known address on Zoe Lane in Needles, but neither subject would answer the door. An arrest warrant was authored, as well as, a search warrant to the residence. Upon serving the search warrant, both Crepeau and Vongettrost were taken into custody without incident. Additional stolen property was recovered at the residence.

Crepeau and Vongettrost were arrested for possession of stolen property and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Crepeau is being held on $50,000 bail, pending a court hearing. Vongettrost, who is currently on parole for Domestic Violence, is being held on a No Bail Parole Violation pending a court hearing.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
