Homicide at McDonalds

BLYTHE, Calif – On Friday, July 27 at about 7:59 p.m. Blythe Police received numerous 911 calls reporting a male physically assaulting a female in the McDonald’s parking lot. When police arrived, they located a female laying on the ground in the north parking lot.
Officers began C.P.R. on the female and she was subsequently transported to Palo Verde Hospital by A.M.R. Ambulance. Shortly after arrival the female was pronounced dead. Police have tentatively identified the female, but are not releasing her name pending positive identification and notification of family.
Witnesses at the scene described the attacker as a heavy set black male adult wearing a white t-shirt, dark colored shorts and tennis shoes. The suspect fled the scene in a black four door sedan. Witnesses were able to provide police with a license plate, which was sent to all police agencies in the area.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m. the suspect vehicle was located unoccupied in the parking lot of Flying J Travel Plaza in Ehrenberg, Arizona. La Paz County Sheriff, Quartzsite Police and the United States Border Patrol assisted Blythe Police in searching the area. Police located witnesses who saw the suspect in the desert area south of Flying J. As of 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, police are still searching the area for the suspect.
