Juvenile arrested for felony vandalism

NEEDLES, Calif – On Tuesday, November 11 during the early morning hours, several areas in the city of Needles were vandalized with black spray paint that read “southside i.e.” The locations that were tagged included the overpass at J Street and Interstate 40, four vehicles at the 100 block of Spruce Street and the “California” tunnel located at West Broadway south of Needles Hwy. The total cost to repair city property, state property and personal vehicles is estimated at over $3000.
Deputy F. Hernandez from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station was continuing the investigation of this incident and on November 28, a 16-year-old male resident of Needles was arrested. The juvenile was on active probation for burglary and was transported to the Apple Valley Juvenile Hall where he was booked for felony vandalism.
