Juvenile caught with stolen vehicle

NEEDLES, Calif – On Saturday, June 2 at about 10:00 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of Peru Street in Needles, after being notified of a stolen vehicle. Deputies located the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Cherry Street and Victory Drive.

The vehicle was unoccupied and parked on the dirt shoulder of Cherry Street. Deputies observed a white male enter the vehicle and began driving south on Cherry Street. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and took the driver into custody without incident.

The 17-year-old male (a resident of Yucaipa) was found to have a juvenile no-bail warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Apple Valley Juvenile Detention Center and booked for the warrant, vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
