Assault at Motel 6

NEEDLES, Calif – On Tuesday, January 1 at about 1:30 p.m., deputies from the Needles Police and San Bernardino County Sheriff responded to the Colorado River Medical Center after receiving a call regarding a man with stab wounds. While conducting the investigation, deputies were advised the incident occurred at the Motel 6 in the 1400 block of J Street in Needles.

After conducting several interviews, the man was identified as Shawn Richards (age 29 of Needles).

Richards was then located on the 1900 block of Smokestack Drive. Richards was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Colorado River Station Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Richards is currently being held on $50,000 bail pending a court hearing.
