Shooting behind Provident Bank

BLYTHE, Calif – On Saturday, April 6 at about 8:23 p.m. Officers from the Blythe Police Department were dispatched to the alleyway behind Provident Bank in regards to arguing and gunshots being heard in the area. As Officers were arriving at the scene Blythe Police Dispatch received a call from Palo Verde Hospital (PVH) staff advising a man had just entered the hospital with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Officers at PVH contacted the victim of the shooting who was a 26-year-old Blythe area resident who was receiving treatment in the emergency room. The male victim had gunshot wounds to his right hand and to the back of his head. The victim was later transferred to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Blythe Police Officers and Detectives learned that the shooting occurred in the Provident Bank parking lot in the 100 Block of South 3rd Street.
From witness statements and evidence located at the scene, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 45-year-old, Blythe area resident, Adam Solis. Solis was arrested and booked into the Blythe jail for Attempted Murder.
Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
