$49,000 Seizure at I-10 Traffic Stop By Robert Winkler January 21, 2012
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Henry Robledo (age 21) from Pomona, California and the passenger as Jorge Ruiz Jr. (age 22) from Shelbyville, Indiana. Montes and Ruiz were arrested for transporting drug proceed monies and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Blythe. Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. BNET is a multi-agency narcotic task force participated in by law enforcement agencies in the Blythe, Palo Verde Valley area. BNET's primary mission is to disrupt narcotic sales and diminish the availability of those drugs, thereby increasing public safety. Citizens are encouraged to report drug activity or information that could lead into the arrest of subjects involved with any criminal activity. BLYTHE, Calif – On Friday, January 13 at about 10:30 at night, members of the Blythe Narcotic Enforcement Team (BNET) stopped a vehicle on I-10 near Defrain Blvd in Blythe for moving violations. As part of the traffic stop, the vehicle was searched, resulting in discovery and seizure $49,700 in cash. Other items indicative of drug-trafficking were also seized as evidence.
