Christopher Salinas Arrested for Attempted Murder By Robert Winkler February 3, 2012
From the conversation he learned that the victim was at her home in the 300 block of N. Solano when her boyfriend, Christopher Salinas (age 18), arrived and they had an argument. During the argument Salinas stabbed her with a knife on the left side of her abdomen. A family member of the victim was home at the time and witnessed the stabbing and was able to defend the victim and run Salinas off. The victim had been transported to Palo Verde Hospital by family members. After initial treatment locally, she was then flown to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs for further treatment. Salinas was later arrested in his home in the 1000 block of W. Barnard. He was later booked into the Blythe jail for attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. The crime scene was processed and several items of evidence were collected including the knife used in the stabbing. Chief Smith thanks all the officers involved for a job well done. Another very violent person is off the streets and unable to hurt innocent people. Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
