Collision on Lovekin North of 10th

BLYTHE, Calif – On Tuesday, December 27 at 6:00 in the evening Blythe Police responded to a collision between two vehicles on Lovekin Blvd. about ½ mile north of Tenth Ave.

On arrival they learned that 68 year old Charles Vandyke was helping someone in the area whose trailer got loose from his vehicle and had gone off the roadway. While Vandyke was busy helping, his vehicle was struck by 89 year old Walter Duncan’s vehicle which was traveling northbound on Lovekin Blvd. Vandyke’s vehicle sustained moderate damage to the right rear and Duncan’s vehicle sustained major damage to the front end. No one was injured during the accident. Vandyke’s vehicle was driven home and Duncan’s was towed away from the area. The accident is still under investigation.
