BLYTHE, Calif – From May 2 - 15 the Blythe Police Department responded to an average of 58 calls for service per day. During these past two weeks Blythe Police Department received 279 9-1-1 calls, responded to 818 calls for service and documented 156 police reports. Here are some of the cases we investigated:

2 – Non-injury traffic accidents.

1 – Injury traffic accident

6 – Residential burglaries. They were in the:

  • 900 Block of E. Hobsonway

  • 300 Block of N. 1st Street

  • 400 Block of N. Palm

  • 200 Block of N. Palm

  • 4700 Block of Hidden Beaches Dr

  • 1300 Block of W. Barnard

5 – Commercial burglaries: They were in the:

  • 600 Block of N. Lovekin (2)

  • 800 Block of N. Lovekin

  • 3500 Block of W. Riverside Dr

  • 1500 Block of E. Hobsonway

2 – Attempt Burglaries

7 - Shopliftings

9 – Battery investigations

3 – Trespassing

18 – Vandalism investigations

9 – Petty theft investigations

3 – DUIs

5 – Disturbing the peace reports

4 – Hit and runs

3 – Narcotic investigations

2 – Public intoxication

4 – Domestic Violence cases

4 – Auto theft cases

1 – Assault with a Deadly Weapon

1 – Strong Arm Robbery

Officers also responded to 21 alarm calls. 15 were residential, and 6 were commercial buildings.

We made the following arrests:

Wednesday, May 2nd

Eduardo Gutierrez, 32, of Blythe was arrested in the 300 Block of S. 6th Street for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Nelta Smith, 25, of Blythe was arrested in the 400 Block of N. Eucalyptus for Domestic Violence.

Thursday, May 3rd

Cheryl Hamilton, 42, of Blythe was arrested in the 1400 Block of W. Hobsonway for Shoplifting.

Mark Stewart, 25, of Blythe was arrested in the 200 Block of N. Broadway for Preparing False Evidence.

Friday, May 4th

Barbara Vulich, 51, of Blythe was arrested in the 700 Block of N. Seventh Street for Auto Theft.

Anthony Scott, 53, of Blythe was arrested in the 900 Block of W. Barnard for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Jesse Halstead, 23, of Menifee, CA was arrested in the 400 Block of N. Palm for driving while intoxicated.

Sunday, May 6th

Davonte White, 19, of Blythe was arrested in the 1000 block of Catalina for driving while intoxicated.

Tuesday, May 8th

Jorge Rodriguez, 27, of Blythe was arrested in the 300 Block of S. Fifth Street for Vandalism.

Wednesday May 9th

Stephen Slocum, 39, of Blythe was arrested in the 1300 Block of W. Hobsonway for Shoplifting.

Thursday, May 10th

April Duenaz, , 29, of Blythe was arrested in the 400 block of Alice Lane for being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.

Joe Magdeleno, 44, of Victorville, CA was arrested in the 500 block of W. Donlon for Public Intoxication.

Paul Hazelhurst, 62, of Blythe was arrested in the 1900 block of E. Hobsonway for Domestic Violence.

Estaban Ramirez, 32, of Blythe was arrested in the 600 Block of N. Fourth Street for Domestic Violence.

Chaunce McBeth, 24, of Blythe was arrested in the 300 Block of E. Hobsonway on a Parole Hold.

Friday, May 11th

Darrick Moses, 31, of Blythe was arrested in the 700 Block of W. Rice for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday, May 12th

Michael Rangel, 24, of Blythe was arrested in the 500 block of W. Donlon for Shoplifting.

Sunday May 13th

Ocean Goodnow, 18, of Blythe was arrested in the 100 Block of N. Spring for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Curtis Carrico, 37, of Blythe, was arrested in the 6900 Block of Sixth Avenue for Domestic Violence.

Monday May 14th

Daniel Martin, 51, of Blythe, was arrested in the 2400 Block of W. Hobsonway for an outstanding felony warrant.

Tuesday May 15th

Vaden Phillips, 22, of Blythe was arrested in the 200 Block of W. Rice for Violation of a Custody Order.
