Arizona Man Arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle out of Primm Nevada

NEEDLES, Calif – On Saturday, September 10, at approximately 9:17 p.m., deputies from the Needles Police and San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station responded to the 2500 block of west Needles Highway, regarding a stolen vehicle. The vehicles location had been tracked via GPS and was described as a 2016 white Lexus displaying a California license plate.

The vehicle was initially reported stolen from Primm Nevada to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Upon arrival deputies located the vehicle parked and unoccupied. Richard Downer was contacted outside the vehicle and was found in possession of its keys. Video surveillance was obtained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and Downer was identified as the subject in the video stealing it.

Richard Downer (age 27 of Mohave Valley, Arizona) was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and booked in to the Needles jail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
